• Black and yellow construction paper
• Additional construction paper and scraps of various colors  to create the space ship.
• Glue Sticks

Directions

1. Assemble the space ship, using pieces of construction paper.
2. Decorate the background by cutting out and gluing on planets and stars.
3. Glue the space ship onto the background.

Note: You can prepare different shapes ahead of time that kids can use to “build” their space shuttle.

Add space stickers for a fun twist!

You will need glue sticks, assorted colors of scrap
construction paper, and sheets of construction paper for the background.

Start by tearing some skin colored construction paper into an oval
to create the shape of a face. Tear some construction paper into a rectangle
for the neck and glue onto the back of the face. Glue these pieces onto
a black piece of construction paper

Tear another piece into a rectangle for the shirt and glue it into place.
Finally, add the eyes, hair, nose, and a mouth.

In this haunted house there are many scary things. There’s a witch, some
bats, and a skeleton in the attic and some spider webs and goblins peeking
through the window. On the main floor is a pile of heads and a couple
scary monsters. There’s also a ghost and some bats flying around. In the
basement there are alligators swimming in a pool along with some bats
and spiders in a secret underground dungeon!

Divide a piece of paper into 6 or 8 sections by folding or using a ruler
and pencil. Then, color a different scary scene in each "room".
Draw lots of monsters, ghosts, witches, bats and skeletons and anything
else you might find in a scary haunted house!

Using the same technique,
you can also create clown house craft or a crazy cat house

Decorate the cat faces with markers. You can glue some pieces of yarn
to the cheeks to make whiskers or you could simply draw on the whiskers.

A plastic straw taped to the back of the cat’s face allows them to be
held as puppets. There are two cat faces on the template page. Have fun
putting on a puppet show!

For this craft you will need white copy paper, scissors,
plastic straws, a printer, tape, and glue and assorted yarn which is optional.

You can also make a haunted house
or a
house of clowns using this simple technique!

You will need markers, white copy paper, and a ruler
(optional) for this activity.

Here’s a clown family doing different things in their clown house.

You can also use this technique to make a cat house or animal house or create a haunted house for a scary halloween craft.

You will need crayola crayons and white cardstock for
this project.

Draw the outline of the mountains and other images by coloring lightly
on the cardstock. Gradually fill in with different colored crayons, blending
to make the colors flow together. To finish, add a rainbow, flowers, some
trees, a sun, clouds, a moon and some planets!

You will need construction paper, a bottle of glue,
a stapler, a wooden cylinder-shaped block which will help to form the
pig’s nose. You will also need a pencil to curl the pig’s eye lashes

Start by making a a cootie catcher out of construction paper. Here
are some directions on how to make a cootie catcher that I found on
the internet.

Staple the top and bottom sections together to create a mouth that only
opens in one direction.

To make the pig’s nose: Glue a piece of construction paper around a cylinder
shaped block, leaving some of the paper flat and off of the block so that
only part on the paper is wrapped around it (you will use the off part
to connect the nose to the rest of the face), Hold the paper around the
block until the glue dries.

Take the flat part which is connected to the nose and glue it to the
face, making sure the mouth is opening in the right direction. Your pig
will look like an elephant at this point. Hold the construction paper
down with your finger until the glue dries. Then, cut the nose so it is
shorter and looks like a pig’s nose.

Next, cut a round piece of construction paper that will fit inside the
nose and add some nostrils to this piece. You can use the wooden cylinder
block as a measurement guide if you want. Leave a couple of small tabs
on the circle when you cut it out. The tabs can be bent and dotted with
glue and then carefully placed inside the nose to help it stick.

Then you can add some construction paper inside the mouth as shown in
the picture. This part can be a little tricky as you need four triangles
that each fit nicely in each section of the mouth. Once you make one that
fits you can use it as a template and cut three more in the same shape.

Next, fill in the cheeks with some construction paper that you can glue
inside both sides of the pig’s face and round them off with scissors.
You can cut out triangles to make ears and add smaller triangles to those
to complete the ear look and glue to the back of the pig’s head. Then,
create eyes, eyelids and eyelashes and glue into place. The eyelashes
are made by cutting a small rectangle and then cutting long ways in super
thin strips almost all the way down. Then they are curled by rolling them
around a pencil.

You can attach some string to the back and hang the pig on a wall for
a cute decoration.

Introduction

This Craft is based on the children’s book "The Berenstain Bears
and The Spooky Old Tree" by Stan and Jan Berenstain. Kids love
this book and it is one of my favorites as well.

Directions:

Start by having the children trace their hands on a piece of brown construction
paper while elongating the fingers.

To do this trace from the wrist up past the fingers and come to a point.
You may have to help the kids with this step but it helps if you demonstrate
the process first and then have the kids copy you.

Next, snip a thin strip of green construction paper to make grass. I
cut out a pumpkin, which hides in the grass. I also added a bat, some
crows, and a big yellow moon. The cutouts are then glued onto a gray or
black piece of construction paper to make a spooky old tree scene.

2. Have your kids color and cut out the different cat parts. Then, glue the different parts onto the body to create unique cat decorations.

To make this craft a little easier to prepare you can print the outlines on white copy paper and have the kids color the lion face themselves with markers or crayons.

For this craft you will need:

• Yellow and light brown construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue sticks
• Straws
• Tape
• Printer
• Lion Face Template
• Lion Mane Template

Step One

Print the Lion Face Template onto light brown construction paper. Each page has two lion faces on it so you will only need half as many copies as you have students. Cut the paper down the middle so there is one lion face on each half.

Step Two

Print the Lion Mane Template onto yellow construction paper. There is only one mane per piece of construction paper and there will be some paper left over so you can save this scrap paper for future craft projects!

Step Three
Cut out the mane and snip carefully around the edge, towards the middle of the circle to make the fur on the mane. Cut out the lion face and glue the face onto the middle of the mane. Finally, tape a straw onto the back side to complete the puppet!
